Hi Kiersti, Thank you very much for taking the time to read and comment on our article about Josh Kerr and his amazing achievement. Josh is not someone who I have been aware of at the elite level in that event so I am hopeful that he will have a high level profile in the future. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, British men competed in 26 track and road running events – from the 100m sprint to the marathon. But, by the end of the Games, only one male athlete boarded the plane home with a medal in his luggage. That was Kerr – who ran 3:29.05 in the 1500m to take the Olympic bronze. Josh was borne in Scotland but trains in the USA. I dont know a lot about the challenges he has faced but from the interview he gave after the event he has dedicated himself totally to his training, at the expense of time with his fiancee and family and it has proven to be worthwhile, cheers Alan

Hi Cherie, Thank you very much for taking the time to read and comment on our post. Josh Kerr did amazingly well on the day. The standards are so high in this event that to be best in the world on the day is a fantastic achievement for him and his coach and the team behind him. I also run, and ran competitively at 5000m distance on the track. and 1500m runners have my admiration for their ability to effectively keep up a slow sprint for 4 laps! Cheers Alan
Wow, this article provides an exceptional overview of Josh Kerr’s incredible achievement. I’m intrigued about how Josh Kerr prepared for such a demanding race, especially after his bronze win in the Tokyo Olympics. Did he adopt any specific strategies or training routines that set him apart this time? It’s also great to see the continued excellence from British athletes on a global platform. Kerr’s win, alongside Wightman’s previous triumph, really underscores Britain’s dominance in the 1500m. I was especially touched by his acknowledgement of his fiancé and family’s support. It’s always refreshing to see athletes recognize the village that supports them behind the scenes. Well done, Josh!
Hi Louis, Thank you very much for taking the time to read and comment on our post. Josh made a great effort and dedicated himself to training for this event, and he also had a strategy that worked on the day. The margins between winning and second place or lower placing are so fine, that minor errors or mistakes on the day can make the difference between winning and not even getting placed. And as every athlete knows, if you beat your competitors in one race, they will be very keen to correct that error (in their eyes) at the next similar event.
