I agree with you that dogs can provide a great excuse to take some exercise of whatever intensity suits you rain or shine. My daughter is a dog lover and exercises her dogs in South Africa, sometimes on the beach and sometimes in the countryside, which is a great environment for her running or the dogs running too.
